Social Responsibility
Social Responsibility – Community Outreach

Active involvement in the community has always been important to us at MC&A. We have participated in the Aloha United Way campaign and the annual Day of Caring, adopted needy families during the holidays and provided assistance to the Special Olympics events and many others.
In 2005, our associates decided for their annual Christmas event that they wanted to have an even greater impact on the community and so began MC&A’s first annual event of giving back in a major way by each year helping one charitable organization to serve people in need during these difficult times.
2005: The Kuhio Park Terrace Projects.
MC&A adopted the low-income housing area of Kuhio Park Terrace and the entire company pitched in to paint the apartment building and improve the existing playground with new landscaping and playground equipment.

For over 100 years, Palama Settlement has provided facilities, services and programs to support, improve and enhance the cultural, social, educational, physical and emotional well being of everyone who lives in the Kalihi and Palama communities. At Christmastime 2006, our company and associates donated hundreds of gaily wrapped gifts for distribution to the families served by Palama Settlement. We also converted the Palama Settlement gym into a Christmas Theater where a Christmas program performance lifted everyone’s spirits. Resurfacing the pool deck was our team’s final and lasting gift to the settlement.
2007: The Dana Project
The Dana Project is an interfaith volunteer caregivers program sponsored by Moiliili Hongwanji Mission to provide support services for the elderly. The Project’s administrative offices were housed in an old, dilapidated home which MC&A’s gang completely renovated and landscaped. We installed new cabinets, refurbished the floors and wood work and gave the offices a complete new paint job both inside and out to put the finishing touches on this important community asset.
2008: Shriners Hospital for Children
Exemplifying the spirit of giving, Shriners Hospital for Children each year provides specialty pediatric care for thousands of kids in a family-centered environment at no charge. In 2008, MC&A put on a Hoilday Carnival at Shriners complete with games, prizes, carny food, pony rides and more to the delight of over 100 children, their parents and staff. The look of joy on the children’s faces as they participated in all of the activities was priceless and will be remembered as one of the finest days for MC&A Associates for many years to come.
