Haleakala sunrise excursion

Get a vision of what heaven looks like atop Haleakala Crater, "The House of the Sun." Beginning in the dark of early morning, your journey takes you up to the summit as the glorious sunrise approaches. As the sun emerges from the horizon, it kisses the clouds with rays of gold and purple creating a truly awesome spectacle.

The clear, crisp mountain air and high elevation gives you commanding views of the islands of Hawaii, Kahoolawe, Lanai and Molokai in the distance. See such one-of-a-kind sights as the rare Silversword plant and Hawaii's State Bird, the Nene Goose along the way. The lush tropical greens and fragrant flowers open to hardened lava the higher you go. The top's mysterious volcanic region resembles a lunar landscape filled with craters and rolling hills just waiting for you to explore.
