Observe Hawaii’s spectacular rainforest plants as we walk into the lush Koolau Mountains that rise above the aquamarine waters of Kaneohe Bay. See several beautifully feathered tropical bird species, the “jewels of the forest” as we visit a secluded, cascading waterfall that spills into a tranquil private rainforest pool.
Explore a tropical jungle and marvel at the majestic “Pali cliffs” towering above you. Let the peaceful solitude of this magical place envelope you while colorful tropical blossoms of heliconias, ginger, cinnamon and papaya fill the air with pleasant fragrance.
Learn about the ancient Hawaiians' use of various plant species and the interesting environmental history of the area.
Excellent photographic opportunities! We also provide a healthy nutritious snack, bottle of spring water, hiking staff and rain poncho.
- Children under the age of 5 are not permitted.
- We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes (old tennis shoes or hiking boots).
- Not recommended for persons with walking difficulties. You should be able to walk 2 miles over uneven terrain.
- Guide gratuity is not included, and is at your own discretion and expense.
- Trail rating is Moderate. Trail length is 2 miles. Actual walking time is 2.5 hours.
